The EAL's mission is threefold: to effectively upgrade the quality of national environmental analysis data, to actively enhance the capability of public and private environmental analytical laboratories, and to provide support to meet the environmental analysis requirements of all levels of environmental protection authorities in line with the principles of efficiency, quality data, and credibility. As a national laboratory ， the EAL aims not only toward the research and development that will be as needed to meet rapidly changing social circumstances ， but also to address the urgent demands that inevitably arise in environmental protection work.
